When dropping off your student!
Go With the Flow: In an effort to promote traffic safety and reduce traffic congestion along Vista Way during school pick-up times, the John Muir Elementary Safety Committee and the City of Martinez has established the following traffic circulation pattern: Approach the school from Howe Rd., turn let on Vista Way, continue to Pine St. A coned lane will be created along the front of the school for drop off and pick up. Staff Parking Lots are OFF LIMITS for drop off and pick up between 8:00 – 8:30 am; 2:30 – 3:00 pm. We ask that drivers do not park cars when dropping off or picking up children. Please have your child ready to be dropped off in the morning and continue to circle the route until your child is visible for pick up in the afternoon.
Getting dropped off or picked up by an adult: Arrange a pick up place with your parents. Stay in that designated area until you are picked up. Do not walk through the parking lot at drop off or pick up time. Stay in the designated cross walks. You must be picked up promptly at dismissal time. We have after school supervision for 15 minutes following dismissal. If you have not been picked up after this time, come to the school office and our staff will call your parent. Students must wait in the school office if not picked up promptly at dismissal time.
