John Muir Elementary office hours are 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Our Office Manager, Julie Webb, is available to take your telephone calls, relay messages to your students or his/her teachers, treat students with minor injuries or sickness, call home when necessary and keep track of attendance.
Visitors and volunteers must sign in at our office before coming on campus, making sure to sign out when leaving. Students who are tardy or are arriving to school late due to doctor’s appointments must first come to the office for either a tardy slip or a pass before being admitted to class.
Regular and punctual attendance is very important at all grade levels. However, when your child must be absent, please call the school office at (925) 313-0470, or send a note with your child upon his/her return to school or, report your child's absence online. We now have a telephone message line for recording absence verifications at extension 3 at the above number. Please provide the following information: student name, reason for absence(s), date of absence(s), and your relationship to the student.
Our new phone system also allows you to reach teachers directly using the above number plus their classroom extension. Calls go directly to their voice mail during school hours, 8:10 until 2:50 p.m. Classroom extensions are 35+(the two digit room number, such as 01 or 11).
